By Jacqui – One of God’s Intercessors

Tomorrow, so early in the morning, it is almost still today, I will be leaving to lead a team of intercessors to pray in countries where we do not live. There are places in our world where people do not pray freely; where the gospel is not often talked about and many do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
As most traveling intercessors know, we first did a lot of research. So, this morning, I have some knowledge of the history and religion of the places where we are headed. We’ve learned some information that will help us understand what has happened and possibly some of the reasons why many of the people are not actively worshiping God and following Jesus.
Today, as I prepare for this trip, my suitcase, and what I’m removing from it or adding to it at the last minute, will not be my main concern. My main concern today is, “What do you want me to pray there, God?”
God has chosen to work through our prayers. He is God Almighty and is able to do more than we can conceive of and yet… Yet, he chooses to work through the prayers of his people.
I want to walk in His will and not my own. So, it becomes necessary for me to seek him in this today. Very shortly, I will put on my old tennis shoes and head out to the back of our property to a grove of trees. It is there, away from everything else, including my phone, that I will walk and pray aloud and seek the will of the Lord.
If you’re wondering if I truly expect to hear him, I do. Remember his promise? Seek and you will find. Knock and the door shall be opened. God keeps his promises. It’s time for me to take every thought captive to the Lord my God. It’s time for me to seek him and ask him, “What do you want me to pray there, God?” Then and only then will I be ready for what lies ahead.
