Praying Feet

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 ESV What a beautiful promise! Let me share why this matters so very much.

Praying God’s word is very powerful. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 1 John 5:14 Have you ever wondered if you were praying God’s will? If you are praying God’s word, his Holy Scripture, then you are praying God’s will.

I love to pray the Word of God. He has so many promises in Scripture, and God never breaks his promises. His word is truth so when I pray it, I know I can count on it. As I pray God’s word something incredible happens. I may not have known what to pray moments before and suddenly I do. I may not have had the answers I needed before, and suddenly I know the next steps to take. I may have been headed toward the road of worry and now I’m not.

I remember being in Israel and walking through a very narrow underground tunnel with a group of Christian women. I could only see the woman in front of me and couldn’t even turn around to see the woman behind me. Someone began singing, “Your Word is a Lamp unto my Feet”. All our voices joined together and a sense of great peace and joy began to permeate the very air of the tunnel we were walking in. Our feet were walking in prayer as we sang God’s word.

Soon my feet will be walking in another country upon land that I do not know as home. I trust the Lord will guide my every step and give me the words for every prayer he wants prayed there through gift of his Holy Word. I am blessed with praying feet as his word is a light to my path.
